Family heirlooms
Any bride is proud to wear a family heirloom on her wedding day. It’s a little something that makes you feel like your wedding day is a really special day, and something to make you feel more like a part of the family and a part of a tradition as well. When you do have a flashy heirloom to wear to your wedding, or even if it’s a piece of wedding jewellery that’s really not that big or eye catching but it’s still really special for you, you should make sure that everyone can see it well. Normally, when it comes to wedding jewellery we advise people not to let it take center stage. We tell people that the jewelry should be there to give a bit more shine and to add to the bride’s beauty, and not to stand on its own and potentially drown out things that should be more important, like the dress, for example. But when it’s an heirloom we forget about these recommendations and just say “go for it”.
If we’re talking about earrings you can ask your hairdresser to make sure that the ears can be seen well with no hair covering them. It’s easier to show off a necklace than a pair of earrings, but make sure that your neckline doesn’t look too busy.
